Luis is a visual journalist who currently lives and works in New York City. He went to Texas Woman's University where he earned an English degree and got his first taste of journalism working as a writer, designer and editor at The Lasso, the student-run newspaper. After he graduated, he received a full academic scholarship to attend Syracuse University where he received his master's degree in Magazine, Newspaper and Online Journalism. He worked on various student publications, including the independent student-run newspaper, The Daily Orange.
He's designed pages in professional newsrooms in five different states, is a member of the Society of News Design and regularly judges student media competitions.
